“The Mission: Stewardship & Long-Term Active Investing”
During the past 20 years, the investment management culture has changed. Asset gathering is the primary goal for many and benchmark/peer risk is viewed to be more important than capital risk: a fool’s errand indeed. This has not served investors well and will eventually result in permanent damage to the investment management business. The corrective action is to reassume fiduciary responsibilities and focus on fundamental research and security analysis.
There is no substitute for simply doing the work necessary to analyze a company‘s business, financials, management effectiveness, and to determine the value of the stock. Investors and investment managers who adhere to these principles will be rewarded handsomely.
